Pangkor Island In the 60’s and 70’s, the name ‘Pangkor’ was synonymous with salted fish, ikan bilis produce, dried shrimps, shrimp paste etc. Today, Pangkor Island is a popular island destination for local and foreigners alike. Pangkor is a small island located on the West coast of Malaysia, and largely inhabited by fishing communities. Over the years, tourism has grown to be a major industry for the island.
